Case Study
Public Procurement Bid Research & Automation Software
Automation bot and web scraper designed to monitor tenders and execute strategic bids in real time during electronic auctions.
Context
Participating in government electronic auctions requires constant monitoring, thorough tender reading, and extremely fast reactions to outbid competitors during the competitive phase.
Problem
Missing business opportunities and procurement wins due to human slowness in monitoring multiple portals and submitting bids at closing time.
Solution
An intelligent script architecture capable of scanning public procurement portals, filtering relevant tenders, and triggering automatic bids based on predefined profit margins.
Technical Decisions
- Python chosen for its vast ecosystem of automation libraries (Selenium/Playwright) and data processing (Pandas)
- Streamlit used for rapid control panel UI development, allowing users to manage bid margins simply before investing in a complex frontend
Technical Implementation
Coming soon.
Challenges
- Ensuring scraper resilience against government website layout changes and ethically navigating security systems (such as captchas)
- Handling network latency to ensure bids are processed in milliseconds during final auction moments
What I Learned
- Advanced web scraper structuring and manipulation of HTTP requests and authenticated sessions
- Building fast dashboards for real-time bot monitoring
Results
- 100% automation of initial tender screening based on keywords
- Increased procurement win rate through optimized response time compared to human competitors
